Picture/Memo Bulletin Board for Wall Decor

So, I'm selling some of these beauties on Ebay. What do you think?

To tell the truth, almost no one is looking at them. Feel free to spread the word. Or, of course, buy one if you want. If you live close by, I'll just drive it over. I'm starting them on auction at $9.99 which is a real deal since I'm trying to get my name out there.

Remember how I made them for my kitchen? Well, I thought other people might have the same problem as me: lots of pictures and not enough space to frame and hang or set them out.

Here they are:

If you're interested, they're also about to be posted on Etsy.com. I'm working on getting that done. And my shop name is ADaisyADay.

Monday, Monday

Today while I was studiously vacuuming the car and rearranging our 3 carseats, Jacob dumped sand in the gas tank of the rototiller. And this is a normal day. Good thing I have a handy husband who can fix it. Oh, and you should come and look inside my van. No more Kix all over the place with peanut butter crackers mixed in. Not to mention the straw that was all over the place from when we bought some straw bales that of course dont' fit in the back.

Fall

So I know it's been awhile but all is well. Fall seems to be a very busy season for us. For one thing, it's the best time for yard work and we're attempting to finish painting the fence before it snows some more.

One thing we love about fall/winter is that we can now have fires (and need them to warm up the room). We have one practically every night. We sit around the fire and play games and read stories.
Here is what we did around conference time. We only have a radio at our house so why not listen on the road. Plus, if we keep the kids entertained, we can listen better. So we went up to MillCreek Canyon and had bonfires and made dutch oven dinners and went on little hikes in between sessions. It really is a fun canyon. You should go up sometime. There are lots of perfect picnic sites. Although it's probably closed for the winter now.

Here is Jane under the picnic table.

During the middle of October, we took a family vacation down to southern CA. We rented a car which was a super good idea so we didn't have to worry about putting all those miles on our van and having it break down. So we spent the first three days at Adam's family and had lots of fun. Then we went to La Jolla and got a hotel right next to the beach. My mom came down and stayed for the day too. We went to the aquarium and some tide pools and Adam and I even got to go to the temple which was the first time to the San Diego temple since we got married there almost 5 years ago.

And, here is Halloween. Our pumpkins. Check out Luke's with the baseball. I think his is the coolest.
Jane just loves her ladybug costume.

Luke was a dragon and Jacob was a tiger.
Here is Luke giving Jacob a hug. It looks like he's eating him. :)And here in the act of trick or treating. We worked really hard with the kids to teach them how to say trick or treat but Luke was too shy and Jacob didn't talk very loud. However, Jacob would say, very loudly I might add, that he wanted two candies, not just one and try and grab the bowl. And if he only got one, come away crying. I think he must like candy. I wonder where he gets it.

As for individual updates,

Adam is working hard. And in his 'down time' he spends it with us or in church stuff.

I'm playing with the kids a lot and have recently been canning lots of apples. It's not too hard as I once suspected. And, I like my applesauce more than the storebought and my kids do too. I'm feeling pretty domestic lately.

Luke is talking a lot more now although he's also run into a really shy phase. If he's anything like I was when I was little, it's going to take about 10 years to snap out of it.

Jacob is super stubborn and cute at the same time. He's potty training and doing pretty well. Today is his first day in underwear.

Jane is really wiggly. She doesn't like to snuggle. She would rather unravel the toilet paper or dump out the box of crackers or something. She know hows to wave and blow kisses and likes to blow on her food if it's too hot. I think she might be able to blow out her candles in a couple months.

So that's all folks. I can hardly keep up with my kids lately. They are messier every passing day. But it's ok cause we're having fun. I keep reminding myself that my house is supposed to look like kids live there. So if you come over and the toilet is stuffed with toilet paper, just smile and go downstairs. (That one happened today when I sent Jacob potty.) Or of course, you can clean it up for me. :)

Our car!

And the minivan started up! So for all of those who were in constant suspense, wait no longer. We are the proud drivers of our minivan, once again.

And thank you to Aaron who spent all of Sat and Sunday here helping Adam fix it. It started up at 3:30AM Monday morning. Kim's car went back to her later that day.

August Adventures

I know I haven't written in forever but we do have a reason. And I'm not pregnat so it's not that in case you were wondering. Unless you are family or are a neighbor, you haven't heard that our car blew a head gasket about 7 weeks ago. If you know much about head gaskets, you know that they are a very expensive fix. So, I called for a quote and it cost more to fix our van than we paid for it so we thought, what's the worst that could happen? We could trash the car. So we have been trying to fix the car for that past 7 weeks. You have to open up the engine to get to the head gaskets which is a LOT of labor. I am super proud of Adam for getting so much done and for all the help from our neighbors for letting us borrow tools and for your man power. We are now at the stage of putting the van back together. I hope it starts.

So we have been borrowing my sister's car while she was in Africa (thanks KIM!) but now she's back and is getting her car back tomorrow. Hence, every spare minute is spent with me watching the kiddos and Adam working on the car. Something like that anyway.

In addition to the car, Jane is getting busy lately. She can go from laying down to sitting and sitting to standing in about 10 seconds flat. She has also been in a cradle until last night because we've been looking for a cool bed for Jacob. (Luke has a car bed and so Jacob need a cool bed too.) The neighbors knew of a car bed that was about to be sent to DI. Another big thanks. Jacob loves his new bed. And now that Jane has a crib, I no longer have to worry about her plummeting head first into the ground.

We have also had a mouse problem again. When did mice get so smart. And what is so neat about our house? I keep a pretty clean house considering the three tornados that live here. So I've been setting traps, sticky traps, and finally poison. The peanut butter was eaten off the traps, they wouldn't touch the sticky traps, and so I resorted to poison. I don't like the thought of dead mice in my walls (or somewhere more visible of course) but it was my last resort. I found green droppings on my counter today (gross again!) which I have scoured but that at least means the poison was eaten.

So with my busy kids, in my spare time, I'm cleaning up the house and trying to keep it free of crumbs so I don't feed the mice. While the kids are awake, we go on lots of walks and as Luke would say "Go big park" which is his favorite activity. We also got our bikes up and running (meaning mine and our bike trailer) but since a bike trailer only fits 2 and we don't have a bike child carrier yet, Luke has been riding along. It's slow but fun. He loves it anyway. Yesterday we went on the longest, most terrible bike ride ever (for me at least) that ended in my stuffing luke's bike into the bike trailer, putting luke on my bike seat and holding onto my shirt while I pulled everyone up the hill. And then we got home and were out of popsicles. So we had ice water. They didn't seem to mind. I think it was becuase I was the one doing the pulling. They got a free ride.

Yesterday we also got a chance to go to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple dedication, inside the temple. It was a great experience. Probably once in a lifetime. It's going to be our new temple. We've been busy working the past couple months at the open house when our ward had assignments. I had no idea it was so difficult to stand in one place for 4 hours. But I wouldn't trade it. It was great to be there.

So there's the Whittle family update. Jacob is busy getting out top ramen for lunch so I'd better go before he decides to make it himself which he would most certainly do.

Here's a picture of the dresses Kim brought back for Jane and I from Ghana. Aren't we shnazzy. Oh yeah, and I permed my hair. I like it although it's a little different.

Jane's first ponytail.

We got up in the middle of the night for the Perseid meteor shower a few weeks ago. I was worried the kids would be super cranky but we popped some popcorn and took some juice and they loved it. Luke found lots of shooting (or falling) stars and Jacob kept pointing to the cars moving out in the distance as shooting stars. We had a blast thanks to a spontaneous hubby. I'd never be up for something like that if it weren't for him.

Made this cute thing for my front door. I think it's cute. Oh, and painted my front door. That only took me a few weeks. Boy is it hard to open a paint can around toddlers.

Twice in the past few weeks, Jacob has woken up like this. And Luke too. We think they might have bonked their heads and coincidentally gotten all swollen up around the same time. Either way, Jacob took on the name of Quasi (like Quasimoto) for a few days.

My mom finished this quilt (with lots of help, thank you!) for our bed and we just love it. I picked out the fabric while Adam was on his mission and of course, had no idea who my hubby would be. It's finally finished and we just love it. Now we're going to paint the wall to match. Working on that.

This is the first time Jane stood up on her own. I left her in the bathroom for a couple minutes and came back to find her like this. She cracks me up.

Oh yeah, and I turned 26 on July 26. That only happens once in a lifetime so here's a pic. Adam surprised me and took me to 7 Peaks while Heather and Jonathan (Adams's sis and hubby) watched the kids all night. We went out to dinner and stayed in a hotel and went to the temple in the morning. Love this guy.

Trip to CA

In case you haven't noticed, we haven't been around for a little while. Root cause: we were in CA with the fams! We went to the Blackburn side (Glendora, CA) for half the time and Whittle side (Brawley, CA) for the other half. Here are some pictures.

Blackburn trip:

Jane's first real time swimming. I think she looks a little wary. She should with those two brothers of hers. Turns out she loved the water. Totally unlike her brothers at her age.

You wouldn't believe it but my boys loved going swimming which is the first time ever. They became fearless which was a little scary as a parent so they were closely supervised. They went down this slide lots of times with my bro at the bottom to catch them. Loved it.

Warming up at the kiddie end.

Soaked.

We spent lots of time at the park and in the swings. Could have done that anywhere but it was fun to get out try new parks. And be with fun people of course.

Next to the Whittle side:

Another park.

Attempted kite flying.

A really fun time at the beach. In San Diego. La Jolla if you know the area. I totally recommend the beach. It was the perfect weather, waves were fine, and fun family.

Grandma and Jacob

Adam's favorite place to eat back home so if you ever go on through, head here. I even ordered him a breakfast burrito and froze it and flew it back to him on the plane. Made it through customs just fine in case you were worried like I was.

The inside. Hot and authentic.

Then we took a trip to see the calves. Adam's fam works at a feed yard. Here are the newest additions to the feed yard.

The kiddos loved seeing them up close in the pens, despite the super hot weather. (When I was leaving, it hit 117. That's the warmest weather I've ever been in. Whoa! But I thought I toughed it pretty well this time around.)

Swimming again. We spent a lot of time in that little pool because it was fun and hot.

Sleeping arrangements were tight wherever we went. I'm glad to be back home with more space where I can let my kids cry a little if need be. But a big thanks to everyone who tolerated the sleeping/crying kids. And to Grandma W. who got up countless times to take Jane or Jacob. THANKS!

Back to the Blackburn side.

Coloring.

Eating dirt and worms.

Feeding the ducks. One of those geese bit Jacob's bum. He went around afterwards saying, "Duck ate my bum." We thought it was pretty funny.

More parks.

While we were down there, we also ate at In N' Out twice! Good stuff. Try not to be jealous. :)

And here is me talking to Adam late at night on Skype. Check it out at Skype.com if you ever want to talk to someone far away. Adam took this with the webcam.

And, for the record, while we were down there, my mom bought the first pair of jeans she's had since I've been born. I was blown away! Here they are. Cute mom!

Tried out my photography skills, which are slim to none by my parents have some pretty flowers in the yard.

And while I was gone, Adam went to scout camp. I didn't plan to hear from him for 6 days because there was no signal. Then, I get a call on wed night with news of this: 8 stitches to the finger. Poor guy. But I guess it's about time he's had some stitches. He's had too many close calls not to have some by now. He's a toughy and says it doesn't hurt. I just smile and give him a kiss. He also replaced the water heater while we were gone. With the help of some friends. Thank you. And thanks to the neighbors for watering our garden with 5 gallon buckets when we accidentally turned off the water before we left. We owe you big time!
And a little "shout out" to my brother James who went down the slip and slide. I told him if he'd go down again, he's make the blog. So here he is, brave as can be.

Kiddos Pictures

And here are more pictures of the kiddos that I can only look at online so again, as much for my documentation as for your looking. Enjoy!
