I'm so grateful for this boy

Summer camping

Did I mention we love to camp.  We went this weekend and had so much fun.  Except that I didn't take enough water and Adam noticed and thought maybe I'd learn a lesson or something by not telling me.  What a punk.  We had to come home a few hours earlier for lack of some good old H2O.

 Except for the flies.  If you look closely below, there are a lot of flies.  A really pesky kind.  We brought some home with us too and they made it into the house and all they do is fly around your head.  Very annoying.

 Dalton loved camping.

 Doesn't that just look so fun to climb.  And the rock is like sand paper.  I feel like spiderman climbing up it because it's so sticky.  It would be pretty hard to slip.  I don't even worry really about my kids climbing up there.  No much anyway.

 Oh, and Dalton is smiling.  He likes his Dad most.  Adam is making him smile in this picture.  I'm convinced it's because when he looks at me he wonders why I'm making weird faces at him instead of feeding him.

Dalton is 6 weeks old

We love our little guy.  I think I should probably give an actual update.  Things are good.  We're still recovering from having a baby but I give myself 2 months so that gives me a couple more weeks to get some sort of schedule or something under control.  We do a lot of legos and playing outside and stuff lately.  

I feel pretty good.  I'm starting to run a little again which feels nice.  Sort of.  We've been super busy this past month because we made a list of lots of things we wanted to do this summer and we're almost done with the list and it's been super fun.  Lots of fun family times.  And then school starts for Luke in one week and Jacob starts preschool in 2 weeks.  So nice.  Ready for some stability.

Oh, and here's our list.  We've done everything except bowling (which is this week) and visit g and g by the red mountains (moab).

Jacob got tubes in his ears 2 days ago and is doing great.  It's supposed to help him hear better so he can learn to speak better.  The dr. says within 3 months we should see some improvement.  Then, you can call him and understand him on the phone.  Won't that be nice :)

Jacob has also begun praying for 2 more girls for our family. I'm not sure how I feel about this.  Actually, he's thanking Heavenly Father that we get to have 2 more girls.  Reasoning: Luke and Jane are getting married and there's no one for him or Dalton to marry.  Thus, we need two more girls.  It's pretty cute/funny/intimidating.

We only have yard work now!

We have been meaning to post before and after pictures of our yard for awhile now but it's difficult to decide when it's good enough for after pictures.  We can still make a long list of things that need to be done (level the trenches because they're settling and kill weeds and plant more seed, plant more trees, replace flowers that didn't grow, . . .)

Before.  This is what the yard looked like when we moved in.

Adam and some helpers made a rock wall out of them while the kids and i went to CA.

Here's a picture of our almond tree, transplanted iris', and flower garden.  That is grass seed and lines are marked for sprinkler trenching.

On the side of that picture, you can see a trench and how long the grass got.  The grass got up to 4 feet in places.  Crazy.  Do not mow that while pregnant.  Speaking from experience.

Pushed a pipe under the driveway with water pressure and it ended up on the other side (thank goodness) but 6.5 feet under.  Very deep hole in the front yard.

Adam put this on here.  It's supposed to be Jane and I smiling because the yard is almost done. :)

We're putting a bird house in the corner.  Our first real personalized mark on the home.

Our rock wall but it's really a rock garden.  And grass.  And a slide which is not totally permanent but the kids love it.  One day stairs will be there.

We have these cool things in some of the rock cracks.  

And these (strawberries) which are actually doing really well.

We have 4 fruit trees along the fence on the left and our veggie garden this year is planted underneath them for simplicity this year. 

Sandbox with swingset.  Really love that this house came with a really good sanbox.
