Christmas Letter

Here is our Christmas letter and Christmas picture for those of you who didn't get a letter or email. Hope you had a great Christmas.

This year has been another busy one for the Whittle family and has gone by a little too fast but it has been full of blessings. At the start of the
year, we were busy expecting our second child, finishing school, and
working. We found out in January that we were going to have another
boy. We were very excited, especially for Luke, who we hope will love
having a brother so close in age to him.

Adam has been super busy this year. Adam walked (graduated without his diploma) in April which was a fun event because we got to see lots of family and then finished his last classes in June. Adam’s senior project was to help build the frame and body of a Formula One racecar for BYU. The finale for the project was a race against many other colleges’ Formula One cars. The race was in the end of June in Fontana, CA and we had a lot of friends and family come to watch the race. BYU did pretty well for its second year in the program. The car did especially well in the design competition which we were very excited about. After his classes finished, he went officially full time at his job as a manufacturing engineer. He is working for a custom fabrication
machine shop called Complex Fabricators located in Salt Lake (only 10-15 min from home). This was a welcome change to the school and work and projects and tests from years before. Adrienne loves having him home at night with no homework, tests, or parts to build.

At the conclusion of Adam’s classes and senior project, we moved to Salt Lake, specifically Magna, Utah. We had been looking at buying a home for quite a few months but found it to be a grueling process, especially looking for houses while Adrienne was 7, 8, and 9 months pregnant. We put in offers on 7 different homes, thanks to our very kind realtor, and finally ended up with our little home in Magna. We moved to Magna in July with the help of lots of family. We love having our own home but it does require a lot more work and responsibility than renting. However, all things considered, we love it. And we love visitors and we have a bed for anyone willing to venture out to visit.

Adrienne was working at the beginning of the year at Rocky Mountain Composites which she loved but had to quit near Jacob’s due date. She expected to be a week early with him like she was with Luke so when he
didn’t come for another 6 days, she was feeling very overdue. Jacob was
born on May 24th after a very surprisingly short labor. He was 9.0 lbs,
20.5” long and very cute and chubby. She stayed home with the kids since then and has been having lots of fun. The new home we live in has a nice big backyard for playing.

Luke is happy as usual. He keeps growing and learning. He can jump and dance and color on walls and throw his diapers away and all sorts of neat tricks. He loves to laugh and play with rocks he finds around the yard (which he usually sneaks inside) and any sort of ball he can get his hands on. He will have his 2nd birthday in February and we’ll make sure and make him a nice big cake.

Jacob was born at 9.0 lbs but has gained weight very quickly. At 3 months, he weighed 20 lbs. Now he has slowed and is a mere 24lbs. His chubby cheeks are very cute. He loves to smile at anything and everything. He is very cheerful. Now if we can only get him to sleep a little longer at night.

We dressed up many times for our family picture but never actually got one for some reason or another. But, we figure the kids are the cutest anyway. You can check our blog for more recent Whittle family
updates at www.thewhittlefamily.blogspot.com

Well, now that you’ve heard the Whittle update, we’d love to hear from you and how you are doing. Have a very Merry Christmas and Happy
Holidays.

Love,
Adam, Adrienne, Luke, and Jacob

That's so exciting that ya'll have your own house! I'm super-jealous. We're renting a house here, so I guess that's a step up from our little apartment.
